Shoot The Presses!!!

Trouble getting a gun? Just print one:
An American gunsmith has become the first person to construct and shoot a pistol partly made out of plastic, 3D-printed parts. The creator, user HaveBlue from the AR-15 forum, has reportedly fired 200 rounds with his part-plastic pistol without any sign of wear and tear.

[...]

... the interesting thing is that the lower receiver — in a legal sense at least — is what actually constitutes a firearm. Without a lower receiver, the gun would not work; thus, the receiver is the actual legally-controlled part.

In short, this means that people without gun licenses — or people who have had their licenses revoked — could print their own lower receiver and build a complete, off-the-books gun. What a chilling thought.

On the other hand, guns don't kill people, printing presses do.

  1. Oh, the Humanity! when Experts dabble out of their(!)range of X-per-tease...
Seriously, you talking about guns is like me talking about the Opera(When DOES the fat lady sing?)
and think you've been watching "The Graduate"* again...
so instead of just buying one of the 300,000,000+ guns already out there, peoples are gonna invest in expensive plastic molding technology to make something they can buy for $400...
Seriously, picked up a perfectly good Smith & Wesson model 19 revolver for my daughter a few years back, Nobody wants revolvers anymore...
You sure this isn't an EICOTUS program "Guns for the Po'"???
and what is this "Gun License" you speak of?
And to close, it's already perfectly legal for citizens to make their(!) own firearms, OK, you're not really making them as much as putting them together, and they're made out of this exotic new material,
    its called "Steel"
