Recently watching, as is my wont, The Daily Show, I saw a bit that bears repeating. Today, people are bringing guns -- pistols, assault rifles -- to presidential town meetings. Remember back in Days o' Bush, when a couple was arrested for wearing T-shirts? Arrested. T-shirts.

I wonder if the same people defending the right to bring guns to presidential events were outraged at the arrest of that couple? You know: those right wing lovers of free speech and gun rights as long as the words and bullets are aimed appropriately. Anyone remember right-sided outrage over the arrest that previous time? I don't. Rush, Bill, Shawn, Ann? Nazi-fearing Glenn? Any of them? Nor do I have a minimicronanoliter of doubt that had the gun-toters been arrested, every one of the aforementioned would still be screaming, into the long dark night.

When, exactly, did the world stop making sense?

  1. I'm 25 and all I have is a vague notion that once there was a mythical time when the world made sense. But I missed it. Sad.

  3. FDMTP tally: 793.

    Or should it be FDITP?

Either way. I guess one has to admire consistency.

Remember when Sarah Palin was hung in effigy? Remember the pic of Bush with a gun to his head? Remember...

No, of course you don't. The world began with Obama.

  7. Able to read, I. N. Esher? Able to make sense of words strung together to form a sentence? Able to understand sentences aggregated into a thought?

The common theme of negative comments around here is the complete missing or ignoring of the point of the post. On the one hand, it adds nothing to the discussion. On the other, it proves, over and over, the vacuity, the reflexive stupidity of the other side.

So, thanks. Keep it coming. I especially love comments that disprove themselves with their own words. Quite amazing.
